Staff Report LHR: National Academy of Young Scientists (NAYS), Pakistan celebrated a dedicated “Science for Youth Week (S4Y)” earlier this month. NAYS had collaboration with number of scientific organizations like Technology Times, Tech TV, Emerging Nations Science Foundation (ENSF), Science Society, AMSA Pakistan, Pakistan Science Forum (PSF), Global Young Academy (GYA) and Pakistan Science Club (PSC) for this week and its activities.

During S4Y week 2015, almost 25 activities were conducted across Pakistan including lectures on scientific topics, Model and Poster Competitions by NAYS team. The demonstrators of NAYS visited schools and arranged different activities.

President NAYS, Aftab Ahmad said that, “I urge all the researchers to extend Science for youth program in their areas so that we could not only broaden the scope of program but also take it to next level to promote science and technology in the country.”

NAYS also announced to conduct a national essay competition by the end of this month whose details could be found at their website www.nays.com.pk.

Pakistan is a country with alarmingly low literary rate and there is dire need to promote education, science and technology in Pakistan. The NAYS team is putting its efforts to bridge the gap by conducting such events for promotion of SandT in Pakistan which is certainly commendable.
