The DAAD Masters Scholarship for Public Policy and Good Governance Programme offers opportunity to prospective students an opportunity to obtain Master`s degree in relevant disciplines of social, economic, an political development of their home country at renowned German Higher Education Institutions.
The applications submission has been started since June 01, 2015 and will close by July 31, 2015.
The scholarship scheme is available to students from Africa, Latin America, North/Central America, South Asia, and Southeast Asia as well as from countries in the Middle East.
The scholarship is intended for richly qualified graduates aspiring to contribute in economic and social development of their home country. There is no particular experience requirement. Fresh graduates and mid-career professionals are the potential targets.
The main DAAD criteria for selection are academic qualification, knowledge of English language (and German), political and social engagement, a statement of purpose detailing the interest and possible outcomes that candidate expects after successful completion of the degree programme and how it will be advantageous in delivering to their home country. Furthermore, graduate degree of prospective candidates must be obtained during the last 6 years at the time of application.
The university degree should be obtained during the six years before the application for the scholarship. Applicants cannot be considered if they have been in Germany for more than 15 months at the time of application.
There are number of benefits of the scholarship programme that winners will credit; DAAD scholarship holders are completely exempt from tuition fees. DAAD also pays a monthly scholarship amounting 750 €.
The scholarship also includes contributions to health insurance in Germany. In addition, DAAD grants a sizeable travel allowance and a study and research subsidy as well as rent subsidies and/or allowances for spouses and/or children where applicable.
