STAFF REPORT ISB: Chairman of Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA), Ismail Shah told the Senates Standing Committee that talks between the Pakistani and Afghan intelligence agencies had remained successful.


Pakistan has decided to block SIMs roaming in Pakistan to shun the terrorism activities. This was announced during Senate`s Standing Committee talks.


Ismail Shah told the committee that Afghan mobile towers had stronger signals on the border due to which Afghan SIMs were used in the Pakistani border areas. He also apprised that Pakistan had roaming agreements with various countries except India. He also explained that Afghan SIMs will not be able to function in Pakistan whereas Pakistani SIMs will still work in Afghan territory.
