SCIENCE IS a systematic enterprise that builds and organizes knowledge in the form of testable explanation and predictions. The words “Science” and “Philosophy” were sometimes used interchangeably in the English language. However, “Science” continued to be used in a broad sense devoting reliable knowledge about topic.

To develop and promote science culture in Pakistan, first we need to understand the need of science attitude. The attitude students have toward science may affect their performance. The attitude has been viewed as the predisposition to respond positively or negatively to an object or phenomena. One of the important goals of science teaching is to promote positive attitudes toward science. Students with positive feelings toward science achieve more and also more likely to incorporate science into their daily lives when they appreciate its importance.

In simple terms the measures through which scientific attitudes can be developed among the students include those through which their curiosity gets satisfied, they get rid of their superstitions, they begin to participate in co-curricular activities, they begin to think in a practical way, they play an important role in developing a desirable kind of environment in the classroom, they get inspired to get involved in the habit of studying various scientific literatures and they get opportunities to get involved in practicing or practical works.

Science and culture are the essence of life today, in war and peace, it is a series with special agenda that aims to encourage and publish books that deal with the sciences past and present as forms of culture and in a manner accessible to the generally educated public.

Science is the concerted human effort to understand, or to understand better, the history of the natural world works, with observable physical evidence as the basic of that understanding. It is done through observation of natural phenomena, and or through experimentation that tries to simulate natural processes under controlled conditions. The critical commonality is that all these people are making and recording observation of nature or of simulation of nature.

The word “science” probably brings to mind many different pictures: a fat text book, an astronomer peering through a telescope, a naturalist in the rainforest, Einsteins questions scribed on a chalkboard, the launch of the space shuttle, bubbling backers…….. All those images reflected some aspect of science, bottom of them provides a full picture because science has no many facets; Science is both a body of knowledge and a process.

Science is a way of discovering whats in the universe and how they worked in the past, and how those things work today and how they will work in future. Scientists are motivated by the thrill of seeing or figuring out something that no one has before.

The knowledge generated by science is powerful and reliable. It can be used to develop new technologies, treat diseases, and deal with many others sorts of problems. Science is continually refining and expanding our knowledge of the universe, and as it does, it leads to new questions for future investigations. Thus the science will never be “Finished” people all over the world participate in the process of science.

In science discovery any ideas must be verified by multiple lines of evidence and then integrated into the rest of science, a process which can take many years. And often discoveries are not bolts from the blue. A discovery may itself be the result of many years of work on a particular problem, science studies the natural world. This includes the components of the physical universe around us like atoms, plants, ecosystem, people, societies and galaxies, as well as the natural forces at work on those things.

Students that are interested in science and technology are necessary for the country to advance. But, unfortunately, in Pakistan, there is often a lack of interest in science or a preconception that science is only for nerds. Besides this, educators can promote science in high school by making science both fun and meaningful.

It is better to develop science culture in early ages like at high school level. To promote science programmes these educational institutions need funding, administrators need to allocate funds to the science programmes so that they can purchase the needed equipment. It should be realized that science department may need more money than that of other departments like English or Social Studies etc. because science required expensive equipment.

If we could make science classes applicable to daily life, then students would feel that the information theyll learn is applicable to their lives, which will encourage students to take science. We can promote science culture in Pakistan in different ways i.e. exhibitions, lectures by scientists, seminars, radio and TV programmes, research programmes, science dialogue programmes, etc.

In our ministerial system, the Ministry of Education is responsible for regulating education of pre-school children, basic education, secondary education, adult education institutions, and higher education on universities level, but this ministry should have deep interaction with the Ministry of Science and Technology, so that, jointly they can bring excellence in science education.

Science teachers and the science community have an important role in promoting science and its profile with young people, particularly by increasing students participation, motivation and success. This can be encouraged by mobilizing professional scientists and engineers to support school science and by celebrating students achievements in science. The government should focus more on science teacher training which will ensure quality education to the youth and this will also help a lot in the promotion of science culture.
