STAFF REPORT IBD: The National Academy of Young Scientists (NAYS), being a pioneer academy of young scientists in Pakistan, while commemorating the Muslim Scientists Day last week, paid homage to Muslim scientists for their prestigious services for science.
On that day, the NAYS displayed banners related to Muslim Scientists Day in major institutes across the country. In addition brochures were also disturbed among young researchers to raise awareness about the contributions of Muslim scientists.
NAYS also organized an essay and poster competition on the topic “The Legendary Muslim Scientist” in collaboration with Pakistan Science Foundation (PSF) for the awareness of young students and researchers about the contributions of Muslim scientists in the development of modern fields of science.
As many as 64 students participated in the contest. Out of nice abstract four participants displayed their posters in Agriculture University, Peshawar, on the eve of 3rd one-day workshop on young researchers skill development.
According to essay contest results, Laraib Ghaffar from UET Lahore got first position, Fareeha Anwar from Armed Forces Institute of Dentistry, Rawalpindi, second position while the third position went to Syed Hassan Sajid. Similarly, Taimoor Khan from Abdul Wali Khan University, Mardan, won the poster competition. Second position was secured by Aneela Ayub from University of Gujrat, and Kaneez Fatima stood third.
