STAFF REPORT KHI: Pakistani team has won four Silver Awards at the Asia Pacific ICT Awards 2012 ceremony held last week at the Empire Country Club in Brunei Darussalam.

According to a statement issued by PASHA, the Centre for Advanced Research in Engineering (CARE) won a Silver in the Communications category; Tunacodes gKrypt won the Silver award in the Security Category; Pi-Labs Incs Candy Pot and Feed Garfield Gaming Engine won the Silver in New Media and Entertainment and the NUST/CARE joint submission on “Early detection of Diabetic Retinopathy without invasive die injection” picked up a Silver in the Research and Development category.

This years P@SHA delegation had only six technology products competing for the prestigious APICTA Awards. The teams delivered a stunning performance in front of the whos who of the technology industry in the Asia Pacific region with four out of the six winning the Silver Award in the Security, Research and Development, Communications and New Media and Entertainment categories.

The award winners from Pakistan include Pi-Labs Inc., NUST/Center for Advanced Research in Engineering and Tunacode Pvt Ltd, Center for Advanced Research in Engineering.

International APICTA Judges from 16 economies who evaluated the categories in which Pakistan participated spoke about the consistently high standard of technology products presented by Pakistan year after year.
