STAFF REPORT KHI: The incorporation of technology can sizably enhance the productivity of an organization and increase the efficiency significantly. Allied Bank Limited (ABL), the leading bank of the country has successfully deployed Oracel Exadata Database Machine in order to reduce the processing time to as much as 50 percent.


Sohail Aziz, Chief Information Technology Group, ABL said while commenting on the upgradation, “The core banking application of the bank was experience severe scalability issues because of large number of transactions in the Online Transaction Processing (OLTP) system which caused linger in generating reports of critical importance. This is why implementation of Oracle Exadata was imperative to enhance OLTP processing”.

This upgradation will optimize ABL`s core banking hardware infrastructure and enhance its OLTP processing resulting in reduced processing time for COB tasks such as daily transaction, calculating and posting interests, rolling the bank date forward and production of various reports.
