Architecture Industry in Mitigation of Climate Change

No doubt, climate change is one of the perilous and critical contemporary issues of the world which has hampered the progression of multifaceted sectors of the society.

Architecture Industry in Mitigation of Climate Change

In order to tackle such grave and appalling concern, pundits from varied specializations have to contribute in order to minimize the deleterious repercussions of climate change specifically architects who can lessen the fatalistic implications of climate change with their elevated designing of heterogeneous structures and edifices.Architecture

If we cast a brief glance on architecture industry, it can be astounding to know that architects have always played indispensable role by designing the eco-friendly buildings, exploiting efficient form of energy and providing salubrious stockpile for the construction firms.

Moreover, they have substantiated such phenomenal and miraculous structures where there is a natural regulation of temperature, adequate ventilation, incorporation of high insulation level to reduce heat gain and providing high albedo roofing. In addition, they have also worked on configuration of buildings according to topography of the peculiar locality because designed landscaping can also assist to channelize cooling current of air into buildings to supplement ventilation.

Correspondingly, distinguished architects have also generated high yielding solutions for diminishing severe meteorological circumstances that are applicable on wider level like providing algae and mosses fragments into interior designing which can take up huge amount of carbon dioxide, concrete plazas that reflect heat to keep temperature chilly and skyscrapers that passively resisting heat. As a result of such milestones, they have integrated renewable resources into buildings, making them more adaptable and cost effective. Because, they have designed and used all carbon neutral products across the entire lifestyle of building.

Following are the measures that can be adopted by architects in order to redress the menace of climate change: 1, Designing proper size of structures in order to abridge the carbon footprint. 2, Non pervious concrete facades and pavements should be substituted with marshlands and green rooftop which can vanquish pernicious and noxious gases in the ambience. 3, There should be utilization of soft infrastructure which can proliferate a building insulation potential and truncate carbon emissions. 4, Floating architectural strategy should be used in order to cope up with rising sea levels by designing such substructures that floats upon waterways.

5, Vertical foresting should be initiated for lowering carbon dioxide level, providing cozy accommodation, mitigating smog and transforming the urban landscape into a thriving environment for wildlife. 6, Employing interactive design process by determining the optimal location for the building to be situated. 7, Energy modelling, lighting models and computational fluid dynamics should be the requisite modus operandi that architects should use in order to associate designing with micro climatic features of any locality.

All in all, architects have proactive role in mitigation of climate change. The overwhelming and impending transformation of our built and natural environment is dependent on the acumen of architects who can bring more vitality in the infrastructure development of the world. Hope to see the advancement of architect industry due to their pragmatic approach towards environment!
