BICON, IdeaGist inked to develop start-up ecosystem
The Business Incubation Centre of NUML (BICON) and the world’s largest digital incubator center IdeaGist have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to enhance collaboration for developing a sustainable start-up ecosystem in the country.
The joint venture would invest Rs 8 billion in developing start-ups incubators of 190 universities, 300 technical colleges, and 100 top madrasas helping students to manage a financially sustainable incubation programed.
The digital platform IdeaGist is all you need an idea to start. IdeaGist Chief Executive, Hassan Sayed said that in pursuance of the prime minister’s start-up programme, his organization was focusing to promote and apply the emerging technology through various business ventures.
Both the institutions BICON and IdeaGist would help each other set up incubators in the national universities in a bid to shift job-centric academic orientation towards society-led innovative exploration.
The Business Incubation Centre of NUML (BICON) will develop, maintain and document best practices for incubator operations in the country. As per agreement, BICON and IdeaGist will also collaborate to promote Pakistan incubation network for strengthening national entrepreneurial ecosystem in the country.
Both the leading platforms taken a very good step towards digitizing Pakistan.
