STAFF REPORT ISB: The Board of Directors of the Universal Service Fund Company has met at the Ministry of Information Technology and Telecom in Islamabad.


The meeting was headed by Minister of State for IT and Telecom Anusha Rehman in which an outline of the companys two-year plan together with the core efforts and progress of telecommunication services in un-served and under-served places all over the length and breadth of the country by USF Co were assessed.Other Board members including the Secretary IT; Rizwan Bashir Khan, Member Telecom; Mudassar Hussain, Chairman PTA; Dr. Syed Ismail Shah, Chief Executive Officer Mobilink Jeffery Alan Hedberg, VP ISPs of Pakistan Azfar Manzoor, Chairman CAOP Kaukab Iqbal and CEO USF Co; Faisal Sattar were also there during the meeting.The Board of Directors took into consideration the task for the endowment of Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs) for Basic Education Community Schools.


Anusha explicitly instructed the USF Management to provide key prominence to the affordability and accessibility when it emanates to the delivery of telecommunication services to the people living in remote and under-served regions. She also notified USFs Management to conduct a study and introduce marginal tactics for broadband coverage going onward. The administration was probed to recommend possibilities for enhancement of process to empower ideal infrastructure sharing on USF organized project both on coverage and fiber program.
