Pakistani aspirants to take part in “B&R Teenager Maker-Camp”
`The Belt and Road Teenager Maker-Camp and Teachers Workshop’ is going to be held from 15 to 21 November 2018 at Beijing, China. Pakistan Science Foundation (PSF) has elected five aspirants and a head of clan to take part in B&R Teenager Maker-Camp.
Pakistan Science Foundation Scientific Officer, Saman Rauf has been preferred as head of clan to supervise the students during the workshop. The nominated five Pakistani students across the country including Fatima Nasir, Farazia Tariq, Aleesha Zahoor, Hasan Sarfaraz and Minal Mobin.
Principal Scientific Officer, Pakistan Science Foundation, Syeda Rehana Batool informed that students aged between 13-15 years who completed their middle-level school education submitted their applications to PSF.
The shortlisted candidates, after the preliminary screening on the basis of educational qualification and age, were called for written test, interview, and presentation at Islamabad, Lahore, Karachi, Quetta, and Peshawar.
Ministry of Science and Technology, Pakistan and China Association for Science and Technology (CAST), organized by broods and Youth Science Center of CAST and bolster by Inter-Academy Partnership on Science Education Programme and The Economic Cooperation Organization Science Foundation (ECOSF).
Pakistan Science Foundation eventual aimed to propel the aspirants to take part in B&R Teenager Maker-Camp to strengthen communication and cooperation between China and other countries along One Belt One Road (OBOR) initiative of China.
The Belt and Road Teenager Maker-Camp and Teachers Workshop is to stimulate innovation and kindle interest among young students for promotion of science and creativity.
Ministry of Science and Technology and the Pakistan Science Foundation sponsors the contribution of Pakistani young scientists in this programme with the intention to give them a greater imminent into science and its application for the benefit of all.
The workshop in Beijing, China will give an opportunity to promote and develop science culture in our society at pasture level and it will also promote cross-cultural exchange, social interaction, and understanding of each other’s countries.
Students will get training, prepare different projects and then give a final presentation where the best teams were selected after evaluation by judges. The workshop will also include a cultural expo where cultures of different countries will be represented through amusing activities.
