China accredited on conceding zero-rated aptitude to Pakistani exports of agricultural products and started buying the country’s sugar which is expected to bolster exports to China by an additional $1 billion this year.
Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi said that China has already started buying sugar from the country and modalities are being workout on other agricultural products including wheat.
Qureshi expressed the views that “After this facility, we are expecting an additional $1 billion exports to China this year”, he further said that the two sides will grasp negotiations on all issues of mutual interests, including on further deepening the trade and economic ties.
Abdul Razzak Dawood said that the Free Trade Agreement (FTA) between Pakistan and China is probable to be signed during Prime Minister Imran Khan’s upcoming visit to China at the end of next month.
As Pakistani agriculture is a vital sector of a country’s economy and is a net importer of commodities, so keeping in view zero rated agro-products is a good bolster for the country.
