Chinese Company plan a cotton industrial chain in Multan

Sun Weidong the Chinese Ambassador has guaranteed that China will help and support the local industry of Multan after his two visits to Pakistan.
Ambassador Sun’s visit was for reviewing the progress of funded projects from China that includes funded industrial sector revealed in a press release from Embassy of China. He has sightseen the cooperation of China and Pakistan with respect to future collaboration in other sectors, especially in the agriculture. During his visit, he was introduced to Commissioner of Multan Assad Ullah Khan, they have discussed the bilateral cooperation for firming the infamous Pak-China friendship.
He encouraged the cooperation of Chinese industries in power plant construction in the country. He has visited a Bagasse based Power Plant named Fatima having a generation capacity of 2x60MW. This power plant is also constructed with the cooperation of China that is building it by advanced and environment-friendly technology to make it highly efficient biomass based power plant.
A visit was also planned for Ambassador Sun to Multan Cotton Research Station and Chinese Cotton Ginning Company. Chinese Company plans a cotton industrial chain in Multan. China-Pakistan Joint Bio-Tech Laboratory has this Multan Cotton Research Station as its part. This joint lab was built after signing of MoU between the prime minister of two countries last year.
The Research Station has formed 16 varieties of cotton after breeding that are antivirus, heat, and drought tolerant. China is looking for any available possibilities for expanding the cooperation in Pakistani agriculture sector.
He was pertinent that China supports CPEC for infrastructure construction and production capacity cooperation. He added that we will offer Chinese government scholarship to study in China for students of Multan. He has also dug out time for paying a visit to cultural and historical sites of Multan.
