In honor of International Climate Change Awareness Day, Pakistan’s leading production houses, Sharmeen Obaid Chinoy (SOC) Films, releases Pakistan’s first Climate Change Animated Series to create better awareness about climate change and global warming.

Two time Academy Award-winning documentary filmmaker and journalist Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy is in the news once again she recently won the esteemed 2018 Eliasson Global Leadership Prize.

To inform everyone about the small steps we can take as individuals to make a positive collective change by releasing a series of animated films in Urdu. So, every layman can understand.

As, we all know the Climate change refers to significant, long-term changes in the global climate, whereas the global climate is the average temperature of the earth’s atmosphere. 

Keeping that in mind SOC Films will release a series of four more short animated films in Urdu. The series will not only highlight the environmental change, but will also focus on biodiversity awareness, the science behind global warming and what can we do to fix it.

Each short-film has been conceptualized, produced and directed by SOC Films and will be 2 to 3 minutes long. The animated series is a public awareness campaign, in Urdu, with an aim to educate individuals about Climate Change and Global Warming.

With recent scientific findings speculating the rise of annual global temperatures heading towards 3°C,it is clear that the issues surrounding climate change and speedy global warming will soon become irrevocable. It is important now, for every citizen and country to take possession and accountability for what products they use and the rate at which they consume them.

Bringing these innovative series not only helpful for the public awareness, but also for the development of a country. With the help of animated series everyone comprehend the global warming and climate change aspects.
