STAFF REPORT ISB: Easypaisa, Pakistans leading branchless banking service, has signed an agreement with Human Appeal International (HAI) to facilitate the orphan sponsorship programme in Pakistan.


Khurram Malik, Head of Products Telenor Pakistan and Othman Moqbel, CEO HAI inked the agreement through which Easypaisa will offer its mobile account-based disbursement solution for the Orphan Support and Education programme in Pakistan.


On this occasion, Khurram Malik said, “It is our aim to bring branchless banking solutions to regions where the majority of the population is unbanked. This agreement will help us channelize our customized business solutions for the improvement of the society.”


Othman Moqbel, CEO HAI said, “Easypaisa is an innovative solution and its success story is an example for other organizations to bring branchless banking to the developing countries. This great initiative has brought the corporate sector and humanitarian sector close together to improve the quality of life in Pakistan.”


Easypaisa has been working in partnership with several humanitarian organizations like International Relief and Development (IRD), Secours Islamic France (SIF) and Care International to cater for the needs of the impoverished population in the country. In addition to the non-government sector, Easypaisa has been serving the general population, corporate and government sector with its branchless banking solutions.
