STAFF REPORT ISB: President of Pakistan Mamnoon Hussain has said that educational institutions and all stakeholders should cooperate with the government for designing the curriculum on modern lines.


He was addressing the recently held 82nd Convocation of COMSATS Institute of Information Technology here at the Convention Centre.


He asked the students to acquire higher education, uphold their religious and moral norms and never let down their Pakistani identity as this was the key to excel and achieve progress. In a globalised world, significance of attaining progress in science and technology had increased, he said.


He also said that Pakistan is set to see the dawn of progress and prosperity and emerge as a peaceful, strong and prosperous country with a positive impact on the quality of life of the people.


The president expressed satisfaction that the government was paying attention towards the important sector of education so that the people could benefit from scientific knowledge. He, however, said that in this regard heavy responsibility fell on educational institutions as well.


In his remarks on the occasion, Federal Minister for Science and Technology and Defence Production Rana Tanveer Hussain said that there was a need to develop human resource in Pakistan. He said that the government in this regard was pursuing right policies to meet future challenges.
