STAFF REPORT SIALKOT: The prolonged gas and power loadshedding has crippled the small industries in Sialkot, Wazirabad, Gujrat and Daska, as the government has allegedly failed to heal the wounds of the small traders and industrialists.

“The small industries are crippled and we are giving the SOS calls to the government to save these industries from collapse,” said Chairman All Pakistan Cutlery Association Bilal Bhutta while showing grave concern over the energy crisis in the country. He said that the energy crisis and wrong and ineffective policies of the government are the main cause of this collapse.

He said that the governments permission of direct import of the ready products of all the kinds is also leaving bad impacts on the small industries in Sialkot, Wazirabad, Daska and Gujrat as the cost of production of the products of the light engineering sector has also increased. The situation was also resulting into the termination of the thousands of the daily wage labourers and industrial workers.

The Association urged the government to ensure the early end of the load shedding of electricity and gas to save these small industries from collapsing.
