Ministry of science and technology called a meeting of the Inter-Ministerial Steering Committee for Development Project in which Science Talent Farming Scheme (STFS) Phase-I (Component-I to launch for 1800 young students. The main agenda of the meeting was the establishment of National Science School under the government’s Vision 2025. Members discussed the progress issues observed during the execution of the project and shown satisfaction over it.

Rana Tanveer Hussain the Minister of Science and Technology Minister chaired the meeting while Ahsan Iqbal Minister Development and Reforms and Balighur Rahman Federal Education and Professional Training Minister attended the meeting among other officials. Other officials Federal Education and Professional Training Ministry Secretary, Finance Ministry Secretary, Planning Development, and Reforms Ministry Secretary Fazal Abbas Maken, Finance Ministry Secretary, Pakistan Science Foundation (PSF) Chairman and the Higher Education Commission (HEC) chairman and STFS Project Director Jamil Qureshi attended the meeting.

The STFS scheme was intended to implement collaborating with existing the public and private institutions and science enthusiasts. STFS aimed to entice youth towards science and technology during early age. This also aims to improve the economy by improving quality and value addition of science and technology education, particularly at school level.

PSF will be managing up to higher secondary level and Higher Education Commission (HEC) will handle university level higher education under the STFs scheme the participants of the meeting were told.
