FFL organize industrial safety mock drill in Rahim Yar Khan

Fatima Fertilizer Company Limited (FFL) cooperated with District Disaster Management Authorities of Rahim Yar Khan under instructions from National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) to conduct a large scale industrial mock drill.

FFL organize industrial safety mock drill in Rahim Yar KhanOver 1500 individuals participated in this exercise including local residents from nearby communities, workers from Fatima Fertilizer plant, situated in Mukhtar Garh within the Rahim Yar Khan district and representatives from 18 local district Government departments including the Police, Health, Education, Revenue, Civil Defence, Information, Development, National Highway & Motorway Police, Social Welfare, Railways, Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) and District Regional Transport Authority.

The objective of this exercise was to review emergency preparedness at community level towards dealing with any unforeseen industrial calamity. Special focus was given towards understanding and evaluating standard operating procedures and required mechanisms to be adopted by all concerned entities and individuals to deliver effectively on their required duties

while keeping in view the protecting of all forms of life and property. Participants were also trained on important matters such as response mechanisms in case of any local emergency and required health and safety measures to protect human lives and the environment.

The drill was witnessed by key representatives from National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA), Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA), Director General Punjab Emergency Services as well as safety in-charge officials from related industries.

Senior official from FFL speaking about the safety mock drill exercise that “Industrial safety mock drills are an important tool to prepare all stakeholders towards dealing with any form of unforeseen industrial calamity in an effective manner”.
