Food Security Policy from the Pakistan Agriculture Research Council (PARC) is ready with its first draft for consultation with provincial partners and Cabinet for discussion.

Dr. Yusuf Zafar Chairman PARC said during 8th Meeting of Inter Provincial Research Coordination Committee (IPARCC) occurred at PARC Headquarters in Islamabad.

Dr. Yusuf Zafar explained the members of meeting that the IPARCC aims to develop greater research coordination between the Federal and Provincial research associates to have a concrete agenda for agriculture research. PARC is a Federal Research Organization having multiple roles to perform for instance as an effective coordinator and facilitator Provincial Partners of Agricultural Research and Livestock, Planners and Academia head along with Gilgit Baltistan joined the meeting.

The Chairman expected that such events will help in sharing the knowledge, ongoing research activities, improve the opportunities for collaboration to address these issues on top of the future research in National Agricultural Research System (NARS).

For boosting up the research activities in the provinces by Provincial partners of Agriculture and Livestock were presented to highlight their initiatives.

The Committee at the end of a meeting unanimously agreed towards collaborative research activities and issue based commissioned research projects, policy research, climate change, and food security.
