STAFF REPORT ISB: The research and development activities in Pakistan must be monitored and redundant researches must be replaced with problem solving researches in order to mull for indigenous solutions for our indigenous problems. Revolving around this theme, Pakistan Academy of Sciences (PAS) organized a two day workshop titled as Project Formulation at University of Poonch, Rawalakot.


The participants from different universities, academicians, faculty members, scientists, researchers, students, and professionals were present on the occasion.


Prof Dr Muhammad Ashraf, Chairman PSF during his address recounted the role of PSF and its different initiatives for science popularization and promotion.


Vice Chancellor, University of Poonch, Prof Dr Kaleem Abbasi earlier hailed the efforts of PSF and affirmed that faculty of the university will work in close ties with PSF to prepare fund winning proposals that can open up national and international funding opportunities.


Prof. Dr. Shafiq-ur-Rehman, Dean, Kohat University of Science and Technology, to get more information regarding fund winning proposals. He added that its time for the scientists to work proactively and reach out to the national and international funding opportunities. The scientists and faculty of the university has to dig out new avenues for projects funding and concentrate on the problem solving research, he added.
