STAFF REPORT LHR: The skill development and training the human resource can account for proper executions of different operations in industry as well as equip the trained resource with the requisite skills which can be utilized further to accept entrepreneurial challenges. Foundry Service Centre (FSC), a project of Small Medium Enterprises Development Authority (SMEDA) recently launched a training program on Importance of Simulation in Metal Casting in University of Punjab (PU), Faculty of Metallurgy and Materials Engineering. The purpose of the training workshop was to familiarize the students with the latest innovations and technologies that can be adapted in metal casting.


Senior faculty members of PU commended the efforts of FSC for extending their gratitude in offering technical trainings and focusing on innovation.


Saqib Qayyum, Simulation Engineer FSC was the resource person of the training session. He gave detailed lectures on the topic and give insight to the students about the simulation technology and its significance in metal casting.


FSC has been developed jointly by SMEDA, University of Engineering and Technology (UET) and Pakistan Foundry Association (PFA) to provide various facilities including, Testing, Pattern Designing, Simulation, Prototype Development , Training and Consultation services to foundry industry in Lahore and nearby areas.
