GEN Pakistan celebrates World Intellectual Property Day 2018
PR: Global Entrepreneurship Network (GEN) Pakistan celebrated World Intellectual Property Day 2018 at GEN Pakistan Headquarters in Islamabad. The event started with an introduction of GEN’s programs by Mr. Junaid Zia, Vice President. The introduction was followed by a panel discussion “Powering Change: Women in Innovation & Creativity”. The panel consisted of Mr. John Dickerson from US Embassy Islamabad, Ms. Noshaba Awais, Director Technology Development Fund at Higher Education Commission (HEC) of Pakistan and Ms. Iram Zaidi, Deputy Director Intellectual Property and Commercialization at National University of Science and Technology (NUST). The discussion was moderated by Ms. Aisha K, a renowned educationist and filmmaker. The second session had Dr. Vaqar Ahmed, Joint Executive Director of Sustainable Development Policy Institute (SDPI) who presented “Women Leaders in Copyright Industries” a report published by SDPI. The last session was a fireside chat with Ms. Shadnana Gulzar Khan, Legal Advisor to Ministry of Commerce Government of Pakistan.
A huge number of people attended the World IP Day event from government, startup ecosystem and development sector. The event was in collaboration with Center of Pakistan and International Relations (COPAIR).
