STAFF REPORT SARGODHA (APP): Kinnow growers have been advised to save citrus fruit from leprosy disease as it is damaging the quality of produce.

Talking to media in Islamabad, agriculturists said that kinnow has a great importance after grapes, adding that citrus was cultivated at 2000 acre land in the country and Pakistan stood 13th number in the world regarding cultivation of citrus.

Regarding citrus produce, they said that annual production of citrus in Pakistan swas two million ton. They further said that citrus produce was facing impending different diseases and insects, but the most pernicious disease was Leprosy which was threatening to citrus fruits.

Different kinds of citrus fruits (Lemon and Kinnow) have been fallen prey to leprosy in warm and moderate areas that are causing damage to its production, size, and quality, they added.
