HEC bans few university's distance education centers

The Higher Education Commission (HEC) generates parents and students alert regarding admission bans in the following institutes.

HEC bans admission in Distance Education Centers (DECs) of Sarhad University of Science and Information Technology (SUIT), Peshawar as it is a chartered university in the private sector established under KPK government.

All the programs offered through distant education centers (DECs) have been stopped as the university is advised to restrict to on-campus programmes but not followed. So, as per the directives issued from higher education commission SUIT DECs admissions banned.

Moreover, students are advised to not take admissions in any campus, branch, and college outpost in Punjab where degree programmes of University of Central Punjab (UCP), Lahore are offered except main campus UCP, Lahore.

The Higher Education Commission (HEC) not allowed students to admit in Al-Khair University AJ&K, Global Institute Lahore, Imperial College of business studies, Lahore and Preston institute of management sciences and technology (PIMSAT), Karachi.

If students seek admissions in the above mentioned institutes then degrees of such students will not be recognized by the Higher Education Commission (HEC).

The halt step was taken after the universities failed to meet the quality standards set by the HEC for higher education.
