Hydroponic workshop held at PMAS-AAUR to educate farmers

Hydroponic Agriculture training workshop organized by Institute of Hydroponic Agriculture (IHA) in collaboration with Pak-Korea Capacity Building Center of Pir Mehr Ali Shah, Arid Agriculture University Rawalpindi (PMAS-AAUR) with an aim to educate the farmers on hydroponic agriculture for the development of agriculture sector.

The ultimate aim of training session is to bestow farmers to attain hydroponic agriculture to perk up their life standards. More than 40 farmers including students from all over the Pakistan got training on crop sowing, greenhouse establishment, crop management and harvesting of fruit particular prominence on tomatoes and capsicum production technology.

Vice Chancellor PMAS-AAUR, Professor Dr. Nadeem Akhtar Abbasi chaired the certificate distribution ceremony and lauded the efforts of Dr, Shahid Javed Butt, Director Institute of Hydroponic Agriculture for their contributions to train the farmers and students for the accomplishment of their targeted goals.

While addressing, Dr. Abbasi said for the achievement of financially viable goals through foreign earnings “Hydroponic Technology would boost the production as well as income of farmers.”

The progressive farmers should implement this technology in their indigenous areas to make sure food sanctuary and come up with suggestions for the additional improvements in the technology.

As hydroponics is the future of farming and is the one way to meet the future food needs and before now being used to bolster the farming outputs and that ultimately boost the economy goal of government. So, to train the aspirants and the farmer’s community is a need of time.
