STAFF REPORT ISB: An event was held to mark the release of National Biodiversity Strategy and Action Plan (NBSAP) in order to formulate protocols to restrict practices responsible for biodiversity reduction. The event was held by Ministry of Climate Change (MoCC) and International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN).


Speaking on the occasion, Naeem Ashraf Raja, Director of Biodiversity Programme at the MoCC, said, “Our primary object is that our indigenous species are ensured and dont get wiped out. NBSAP is simply adjusting our work to the Aichi Targets. On the off chance that we can do a few studies, as to where we remain on biodiversity and can place qualities to biological communities, and additionally the expense of inaction, we will have the capacity to introduce an in number cases before our policy makers so that they too have the capacity to value the earnestness were appearing in this matter”.


Secretary, MoCC, Arif Ahmed Khan stated while addressing on the occasion, “The improvement of the NBSAP focuses on setting up coordination and execution systems at discrete levels for better mainstreaming of biodiversity into all parts of advancement. The procedure is being led by the MoCC and IUCN with inputs and discussions with the provinces”.
