Internet services restored across Pakistan; PTCL
Internet services restored across Pakistanowing to a major fault in the international cable system IMV after being disrupted in different parts of country said Pakistan Telecommunication Company Limited (PTCL).

Undersea cable near Jeddah, Saudi Arabia that is IMEWE (India-Middle East-Western Europe) was faulted has been fixed to restore internet services, he said.
Technical fault near Jeddahextending from India till France and 13000km-long IMV cable disruption caused difficulties in browsing by Internet subscribers.
“Disruption of the internet in Pakistan for teensy hours was due to fault in IMEWE in Saudi Arabia,” said Sikandar Naqi, chief business development officer (CBDO) PTCL.
“To resolve the situation as early as possible the international consortium managing the submarine cable system has already started working.”
Last month when another international submarine cable system, SEA-ME-WE 4, broke down Pakistan faced a similar internet outage and was still under restoration.
Imran Janjua said that maintenance teams were working to repair the faultoutside Pakistan. “Till the maintenance work is complete, PTCL will be providing internet service through analternate source,” Janjua had said.
IMEWE submarine cable which links India & Europe via the Middle Eastis an ultra-high capacity fiber optic submarine cable system. This 3-fiber pair system with atotal length of 12,091km having nine terminal stations making a consortium of 09 leading telecom carriers from 08 countries.
PTCL has announced freshly to link the biggest submarine cable consortium of world Asia-Africa-Europe 1 (AAE-1) to offer an alternative route to customers and ramp up data carrying capacity.
AAE-1connects South East Asia to Europe via Egypt andcrossing over 25,000 kilometers.
