STAFF REPORT KHI: The project Arrangement of a National Protection Method was launched for conservation of vultures in a ceremony held recently. The project is jointly implemented by International Union of Conservation of Nature (IUCN), and Baahn Beli, the private NGO. The project is supported by the USAID.


Mahmood Akhtar Cheema, Country Representative IUCN Pakistan, said that Pakistans work towards preservation of vultures was profoundly refreshing in the locale. He said, “Vultures project is one of the three tasks that have been activity in the later past. These ventures are being actualized through IUCN associations including the administration, open area and common society associations”.


Arif Ahmed Khan, Secretary, Ministry of Climate Change (MoCC), who was the chief guest on the event said, “Vulture is one of a kind feathered creature gave with a characteristic capacity to ingest a wide range of carcasses, filled maladies and infections yet ready to process and give a deadlock to those, for a cleaner domain”. “The absence of vultures can prompt the ascent in rabies and different ailments that have been dispensed with after a long battle by the legislatures”, he added.


Human intercession had infringed on the creatures environments, winged animals and different species and it has pushed numerous species to the brink of extinction and it is responsibility of government and organizations working for natural and biodiversity conservation to initiate serious efforts for a larger cause and maintain the balance of nature in the planet.
