STAFF REPORT ISB: Oracle Exadata platform has been selected by JS Bank Limited, to consolidate its Information Technology (IT) infrastructure. The platform will allow the bank to run its credit card, core baking, and corporate banking applications.


Oracle Exadata is a database appliance with support for both OLTP (transactional) and OLAP (analytical) database systems.


It is noteworthy that Oracle Exadata has cut the administrative expenditures of the bank to as much as 60 percent. The platform frees up the database administrator resources which were previously utilized for managing various tasks pertaining to backups and storage management. Moreover, the backup time has also been reduced to 70 percent.


Imran Soomro, Chief Information Officer, JS Bank Limited said, “Oracle Exadata has been a prime utility for to improve our OLTP, batch and close of business operations response time, and we have enough surplus capacity on Oracle Exadata for our near-term transaction growth requirements”.
