STAFF REPORT KHI: Muhammad Faisal Shahid, a student of Karachi University (KU), has won the poster competition at the international conference recently held at the Quaid-e-Azam University, Islamabad. The title of the conference was Applications of Molecular Biology in Fields of Agriculture and Medicine.
According to details, Faisal Shahid was one of the 141 students who participated from all universities across Pakistan and won first prize for his poster titled Cloning, Expression, Purification and Structural Studies on PTS Transport Protein of MRSA252.
The competition was judged by a panel of four international scientists from Australia, Canada and Britain.
Faisal Shahid is doing his PhD at PCMD under the supervision of assistant professor Dr Atiatul Wahab. KU VC Dr Muhammad Qaiser, ICCBS Patron-in-Chief Dr Attaur Rahman and ICCBS Director Dr Iqbal Choudhary have congratulated him on his success.
