STAFF REPORT LHR: A new “Centre for Applied Policy Research in Livestock (CAPRL)” has been established in University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences (UVAS) Lahore. The aim for establishment of the centre is to reinforce policy and institutional reforms through robust research and development of livestock sector in the province for sustainable economic growth. The centre is the result of joint efforts of UVAS and United States Agency for International Development (USAID).


The centre was inaugurated by VC UVAS, Prof Dr Talat Naseer Pasha. He said while addressing on the occasion, “This coordinated effort will open entryways for new approach research activities in the livestock and dairy sector. The research directed will be demand driven encompassing and in accordance with industry needs to influence monetary advantages for Punjab. The research findings and inputs on different arrangement mediations will be useful to policy makers for approach and institutional changes that can thusly fortify interests in the area”.


Through this task, the USAID is expanding the institutional capacity of strategy influencers in people in general and private division, with the goal that they may give quality arrangement inputs to the Punjab government.
