STAFF REPORT KHI: Mobilink has planned to invest $500 million in the 3G technology in Pakistan during the next two years mainly on the infrastructure advancement of network, license fee and technical supporting projects.

Jo Lunder, CEO of VimpelCom, the parent company of the Mobilink, said this in a meeting with PM Nawaz Sharif, during his recent visit to Pakistan.

He said that Mobilink will bring investment from its Group having strong financial strength besides it would also explore local revenue including banks.

“CEO VimpelCom assured the PM that Mobilink is working on fast track to swap its network on new data and voice technology to provide new services to maximum customers as soon as possible,” said an official of the IT Ministry.
