STAFF REPORT ISB: Ministry of Climate Change (MoCC) has released Forest Policy 2015 for public review and remarks. This was revealed by Ministry official in a press briefing.


Senior official of MoCC said, “In perspective of Pakistan’s high vulnerability to antagonistic effects of environmental change, specifically to amazing occasions, moderation and adjustment measures are the center of this approach. Enormous part of forestry in climate change mitigation has been overwhelmingly perceived at worldwide level”.


In the 21st century, extent of forestry has been extended massively on the grounds that it offers the best answer for the worldwide issue of climate change, loss of biodiversity, desertification together with air and water contamination.


Pakistan, as part of international conventions on climate change such as Kyoto Protocol, has different responsibilities and commitments identified with woodlands which oblige national-level activities and the collaboration of all portions of the general public and combining units to reduce the carbon footprint of the country.


Consequently, it was basic for the central government to open a forest policy which goes for reinforcing common forest strategies in perspective of the restored command of the Federal Government and Rules of Business of Ministry of Climate Change.
