STAFF REPORT ISB: The energy efficient buildings are one of the important practices of developed world for energy conservation and management. The Ministry of Information Technology (MoIT) and Telecommunication are all set to become energy-efficient by developing a self-managing energy system (SES). According to the sources, the SES will be capable of streamlining energy processes and conserving it at large. The individual energy footprint of the Ministry will be subsequently reduced hence; it will contribute towards a healthy and sustainable environment as well, as claimed by the MoIT sources.The overall cost of the project amounts to Rs 12.95 million and is in the final stages of completion. The project is jointly taken up by Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS) and National ICT Research and Development Fund. The shortfall of energy has lumbered various industries in Pakistan and dented countrys economy adversely over the past years.
