STAFF REPORT ISB: As many as 500 telecentres will be set up in far-flung and underdeveloped areas of Pakistan in order to enable people to get the advantage of National Database Registration Authority (NADRA) services and also get a virtual education through these centers.


This was ascribed by Federal Minister for Information Technology (MoIT) and Telecommunication, Anusha Rahman in a Senate Standing Committee meeting. “The establishment of the telecentres will be completed by next three years and will bring a positive change by enhancing the access to the underprivileged communities of far-flung areas through technology”, She added.


She highlighted the activities being taken by the MoIT, including the plan of remote sensing telecom approach, electronic violations bill, and activities for IT enablement for women and different accessibility ventures for unserved and underserved zones and a very much organized across the nation telecentres program.
