Mehran University of Engineering and Technology (MUET) department of mechanical engineering organized an exhibition of projects and posters prepared by the students in Jamshoro district. Total of 18 projects and 10 posters were displayed at the exhibition.
Prof Dr Muhammad Aslam Uqaili vice Chancellor, who inaugurated the event, alleged the students were working over on several environment friendly projects of mechanical engineering and mechatronics.
The main theme of the event was to provide the students with an opportunity to showcase their talent, skills and creative ideas through their project design. This event not only enabled students to bring forward their potential in the form of quality work on technical projects.
It also provided an opportunity to other batches of the department especially the one that is currently in their final year of study to get new ideas and thoughts regarding final year project design and to learn the methods and complexities involved in the work of designing projects.
The General Manager of Lakhra Power Generation Company Limited Shabbir Jatoi, GM of Mehran Engineering Works Bakhtawar Khatri, GM Halal Foods Ali Sher Soomro and other representatives of the public and private companies also visited the exhibition.
An overview of few of the fiction projects of mechatronics one of them is solar powered two-seater car, an electric bike which provided up to 40 kilometers per hour speed and solar street lights system, among other projects and posters, were put to display. The street light system is equipped with the sensors with the purpose to conserve electricity as the lights would automatically switch off.
If the government utilizes this work of fiction projects than they can provide a lot of advantages to the industrial sector especially these projects can help bring about an eco-friendly change in the industries, such a change was need of the time in view of the climate issues.
