STAFF REPORT ISB: National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) has added to an exclusive ‘Criminal Record System’ under its belt to help the law enforcement agencies (LEAs) in various exercises of terrorists and different offenders through viable utilization of innovation.


Senior official of NADRA said while commenting on the newly developed system, “The software contains names and other essential data of criminals and terrorists; Nadra will further help the law enforcement agencies in gathering biometric data of interest of those lawbreakers. The criminal record system has already been delivered to the law enforcement agencies and NADRA is in process of adding to a biometric database for terrorists and culprits with the assistance of these offices”.


The technologically equipped law enforcement agencies can stem terrorism and other law and order challenges more effectively and the realization and practical adaptability of ICT in Pakistan is especially commendable. NADRA has a history of eminent projects and has evolved as a flagship organization which has assisted in multiple sectors including telecommunications, ministry of interior and has been acknowledged at International level by winning projects in Kenya.
