STAFF REPORT ISB: The 8th National Mathematics Colloquium, titled: “Big Data Innovations; Turning Big Challenges into Big Opportunities” has recently been organised by the students of Mathematics Society at IoBM under the guidance of Dr Ejaz Ahmed and distinguished faculty.
Hanif Jhakura, CDC CEO and Capital Market expert was the guest of honour.
The objective of the colloquium was to embark on a journey to breakthroughs in actuarial science, business, computer science, economics, finance and management and endeavouring with follow-up and feedback towards a better and brighter Pakistan. The colloquium witnessed specialised brainstorming all in the social, economic and technological developmental perspective from Data to Big Data, Big Data concepts, applications, issues and tools, properties of a mixture probability model, Big data innovations and conjoint analysis, exploring Big data in social networking, process capability indices under non-normality conditions.
Such creative input was mobilised at the colloquium from Dr Ejaz Ahmed, Dr S M Aqil Burney, Dr Javed Iqbal, Dr Ihtesham Hussain, Prof. Masood ul Haq, Dr Faisal Afzal Siddiqi, Prof. Ghulam Husain, Dr Mudassir Uddin, Subohi Safdar, Farah Sabir, Zuhaib Asif, Syed Asim Ali, Maqsood Alam and Arsalan.
