STAFF REPORT SIALKOT: The National Vocational and Technical Training Commission (NAVTTC) would soon design training


courses for the Sialkot-based industrial workers.


NAVTTC Executive Director Zulfiqar Ahmed Cheema made the announcement while addressing a meeting of the Sialkot


exporters held at Sialkot Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI).


He said that NAVTTC would also provide technical assistance, guidance and help for developing Sialkots sports goods,


surgical and leather garments industries on modern lines, besides, ensuring early provision of advanced hi-tech technologies


for boosting the industries. He said Sialkot industries lack advanced technology and skilled work force.


He said that NAVTTC would soon design the direly needed special training courses for the local unskilled workers by keeping


the needs of industries in view by taking these industries into confidence.


He said such courses would be initiated soon in active cooperation with the Sialkot Chamber of Commerce and Industry


(SCCI). He added that the NAVTTC had been playing a pivotal role in promoting advanced skills training courses across


Pakistan for providing highly skilled work forces to the industries.


He said that necessary training of the advanced skills would also help provide the maximum job opportunities to local youth


besides reducing the graph of unemployment in the country.


He said that the NAVTTC is also striving for the promotion of standardization and certification in all the sectors, enabling the


Sialkot-based industrialists and exporters to meet with the global trade challenges in the GSP Plus regime.
