NUST MCS has awarded cyber security auditing lab

NUST Military College of Signals (MCS), Rawalpindi has been awarded the National Cyber Security Auditing & Evaluation Lab (NCSAEL)  inaugurated by the well-regarded Lt Gen Naweed Zaman, HI (M), (Retd), Rector NUST.

NUST MCS has awarded cyber security auditing labThe National Cyber Security Auditing & Evaluation Lab is a component of the National Center for Cyber Security (NCCS), one of the four national centers of excellence being established at Pakistan’s leading universities under an initiative of the Government of Pakistan.

The National Center for Cyber Security (NCCS) major goal is to build up highly developed tools and hi-tech research technologies to look after Pakistan’s cyberspace, sensitive data and the local economy from cyber-attacks and data breach. Moreover, NCCS will comprise of 11 affiliated labs at various Pakistan’s universities.

The foundation of NCSAEL is conceived to be an internationally recognized lab and the nation’s foremost place of expertise in the field of Information Security.

Whilst, focused on carrying out security assessment of existing IT applications, malware analysis for detection of Advanced Persistent Threats (APTs) and development of specialized secure indigenous IT products and services.

The lab will also help organizations in preparation for IT secure product evaluation before they formally apply for the internationally recognized Common Criteria Testing Lab’s (CCTL) assessment.
