STAFF REPORT FSD: A three-day Pakistan Agricultural Exhibition has been inaugurated at the Punjabs second largest Expo Centre set up at the University of Agriculture Faisalabad (UAF).

On the occasion, UAF Vice-Chancellor Dr Iqrar Ahmad Khan said that the exhibition has been jointly organised by the China-Pak Marketing Company and the UAF. He said that the exhibition centre had recently been set up with the funding from the Endowment Fund Secretariat through the US Department of Agriculture (USDA).

According to German architects, the life of the Expo Centre was 500 years, the UAF VC added. He said that the Endowment Fund was established in 2006 with Rs 615 million to flourish the agricultural sector through technology transfer, faculty development and commercialisation. He was of the view that the exhibition has strengthen the area of commercialisation.

The Expo Centre comprised 18 halls and provided around 40,000 square feet area for commercialisation of products, he said, adding that the university had rented out the Expo Centre to the China-Pakistan Marketing Company for exhibition for three days.
