Pak-Iran experts consented on exchange programmes in S&T

Pak-Iran experts had a high level joint meeting on Science and Technology at Tehran. According to the media Rana Tanveer Hussain Minister for Science and Technology said that since the beginning both Pakistan and Iran enjoy remarkable relations.
Rana Tanveer visited Tehran on invitation of Dr. Mansour Gholami, Minister of Science, Research and Technology of Islamic Republic of Iran.
He said that both sides have decided to pursue programmes of cooperation with the exchange of proposals, information, and expertise. The two sides have also consented to an agreement to enhance progress by working on joint working group on scientific & Technological Cooperation.
Tanveer has stated that Iran is much advanced in terms of Science & Technology Parks for promoting Research & Development entrepreneurship and also in knowledge economy. He added that linkages with Inter-Islamic Network on science and Technology Parks (INSTP) based in Iran will help Pakistan to promote its science & technology.
He added that his government has a keen interest in exchanges of information via Science & Technology Parks in Iran. This interest is reflected in upcoming three-day International Workshop on Science & Technology Parks at COMSATS Institute of Information & Technology (CIIT) in collaboration with INSTP, COMSTECH, and IDB.
The Minister stated that multilateral forums such as COMSTECH, COMSATS, ECO-Science Foundation based in Islamabad besides other forums such as UN ESCAP-APCTT, NAM S&T Centre and D-8 Group of countries were also cooperation in Science & Technology with Islamic Republic of Iran. Both sides discussed the joint proposal with Pakistan Science Foundation (PSF) and appreciated the jointly funded projects.

Tanveer proposed to establish Technology Park in Pakistan with the help of Iran.
