Pak-US energy partnership

United States Agency for International Development (USAID) showed its association with Pakistan in energy area in two-day International Conference on Energy Conservation and Efficiency 2017 held in Lahore.
USAID Provincial Director for Punjab, Lea Swanson, joined Vice Chancellor University of Engineering and Technology-Lahore (UET-Lahore), Dr. Fazal Ahmad Khalid, CEO Lahore Knowledge Park Dr. Zubair Iqbal Ghouri and dignitaries from the administration, the scholarly world, and private part to initiate the gathering. Facilitated by UET-Lahore, the meeting and going with display are co-supported by the USAID-financed US-Pakistan Center for Advanced Studies in Energy (USPCAS-E).
Ms. Swanson, while talking at the inaugural service, stated: “The US is focused on cooperating with Pakistan to help meet its developing energy needs. We are supporting Pakistan’s foundation and operational enhancements and elevating approach changes to enable the energy segment to work all the more proficiently and economically. The US-Pakistan Center for Advanced Studies in Energy is tackling connected research to locate an imaginative and reasonable answer for Pakistan’s energy challenges.”
The gathering united specialists, scientists, energy specialists, makers and building planners to investigate and trade thoughts in the quickly developing field of energy productivity and protection techniques.
The USAID-subsidized USPCAS-E is a joint activity between the National University of Sciences and Technology (NUST), University of Engineering and Technology-Peshawar (UET-Peshawar) and Arizona State University concentrated on building Pakistan’s mastery to direct connected research in the field of energy.
As a component of the program, roughly 200 graduate understudies and employees from USPCAS-E will lead connected research on energy at the Arizona State University by 2019. The association has likewise created an educational module, set up new labs at NUST and UET-Peshawar, and started trade programs.
