Pakistan and Uzbekistan both the countries agree to boost agricultural cooperation through conventional and biotechnological approaches.

They further discussed about sharing of information regarding the suitable agricultural technology for the adaption to the climate change during ministerial meeting between the Sikandar Hayat Bosan Federal Minister for National Food Security and Research and Laziz kudratov Deputy Chairman Uzbekistan State Committee.

Bosan said that both the countries would exchange best genetic resources of Cotton, rice and wheat to develop high quality yielding hybrids seeds. Both the countries also exchange the list of livestock items.

Minister said both the countries would help each other’s in providing market access in livestock’s products. Pakistan will also take help from Uzbekistan in the area of wool technology and turkey farming.

Uzbek side has beforehand demonstrated enthusiasm for cooperation in the field of cotton and a draft memorandum of understanding (MoU) was prepared on cooperation in the field of agriculture between two sides. The draft approval is awaited in this regard.

Prime minister nominated Bosan as co-chairman of Pakistan-Uzbekistan Joint Inter-Governmental Commission in 2017.
