United Nations Climate Change Conference, held in Paris, France, from 30 November to 12 December 2015, had been met to negotiate the Paris Agreement, a global agreement on the reduction of climate change.
During the conference, youth had been asked to take action and bring their collective energies to save the world that belongs to them.
Young Sustainable Impact by a group of Norwegian youth led by Maiuran Loganathan had been initiated. The platform intended to bring together the greatest young entrepreneurs across the globe – to create, prototype and implement the real solutions to the 17 UN sustainable development goals (SDGs).
YSI now includes teams in 4 countries and representatives from 25 nations, all geared towards bringing greatest youth together to actually create change after 2 years.
YSI succeeded in organizing 20 entrepreneurs under 20 years old in Oslo in the first year. The participants split into 4 teams and worked on business models built on SDG for a week.
The situation has been changed this year. Didrik Strøhm, YSI’s innovation director shared:
“Getting youth to create something that will actually impact the world is a potent idea. If one has a look at some solutions, it comes from people like Mark Zuckerberg–young people who get facilitated in the right direction to utilize their knowledge and skills.”
To be a part of this social innovation campaign total 10,000 applicants applied from more than 170 countries. Only 25 entrepreneurs under 25 years age selected and among them, 5 are from Pakistan.
