STAFF REPORT ISB: Netherlands has invited Pakistan to participate in the forthcoming two-days Global Conference on Cyber Space to be held in Hague, Netherlands from April 16.


Ambassador of the Netherlands to Pakistan Marcel de Vink extended the invitation during his meeting with Minister of State for Information Technology Anusha Rahman.


The ambassador invited the minister to the premier event as a key speaker because of her grasp over the global cyber related issues and legislative work in Pakistan for Cyber Crimes legislation.


During the meeting, representatives of private sector and civil society would share experiences to promote practical cooperation in cyberspace, enhance the building of cyber capacity, agree on norms for responsible and acceptable behaviour online, and explore ways to protect freedom and privacy in cyberspace.


The minister, during her meeting with the ambassador, expressed that subject of the conference carries immense importance for building confidence in free open and safe use of Internet.


The ambassador apprised the minister about the programmes initiated by the government of the Netherlands in the IT and telecom sector and hoped for long-term cooperation between two countries in this field.
