CHAIRMAN PARCSTAFF REPORT IBD: Pakistan Agricultural Research Council (PARC), Dr. Iftikhar Ahmad, has said that the work plans devised and implementation strategies in due consultations with all the stakeholders to ensure boost in yield productions to be adopted and will have a positive on impact on Pakistan agriculture.
He said this while addressing the concluding session of a two-day International Agricultural Innovation Programme (AIP) Inception Workshop organized by the ARC in collaboration with USAID, CIMMYT, ICARDA, IRRI, ILRI, AVRDC and UC Davis.
Purpose of the event was to develop a strategy for implementation of AIP to support agriculture research community in Pakistan to increase crop productivity and production value of livestock, horticultural and cereal crops, thus increasing income for Pakistan farmers.
Dr. Iftikhar said that he is so happy to learn that comprehensive deliberations and discussions have taken place over the last two days during the AIP Inception Workshop. The participation, keenness and valuable contribution by all national and international delegates are much appreciable. He said the work plans devised and implementation strategies to be adopted will have an impact on Pakistan Agriculture.
He also said that he has gone through the recommendations of different working groups on cereals, vegetables, fruits, rangeland and livestock. These recommendations reflect the seriousness of all partners and are implementable in our local conditions.
