STAFF REPORT LHR: Pakistan Council of Science and Industrial Research (PCSIR) has prepared a low-cost fuel which is called coal water slurry for small and medium industries in order to replace the costly furnace oil.


This was stated by Director General PCSIR, Dr Shehzad Alam, while recently talking to media.


Describing salient features of the low-cost fuel, Dr Shahzad Alam said that the fuel was pollution-free and might ease the energy crisis in the country.


He said the low-cost fuel was also convertible into electricity to overcome the persistent power loadshedding in the country.


He also said that initially three industries were using the fuel while further tests for its wide-scale commercialisation were under progress.


He further said that ths fuel would be a positive development for the local industry.
