STAFF REPORT MIRPUR: A team of the Pakistan Engineering Council (PEC), comprising its experts, have recently visited the Electrical Engineering Department of the state-run Mirpur University of Science and Technology in order to assess the curricular and extra-curricular activities in line with the stipulated criteria for granting the re-accreditation for the four-year BSc Electrical Engineering programme in the university.
According to details, the PEC team, however, stressed the need for adding more facilities to ensure the dispensation of more quality studies in the MUST campus in line with the modern age as determined by the PEC.
“The visit has been conducted by the PEC’s experts including the team’s head Engr Dr M Mansoor Ahmed from Islamabad, Prof. Mahmood Ahmed from UET Taxila, and Engr Mujeebur Rehman, Representative of the PEC from Islamabad,” said MUST Electrical Engineering Department Chairman Prof Mirza Waris Jiraal while talking to the media.
The visiting team inspected all blocks of the faculty of Electrical Engineering and expressed satisfaction over the facilities being provided to the students. They also met VC Prof Naib Hussain Chaudhry and Dean faculty Dr Muhammad Sawar and discussed the matters relating to the proposed grant of re-accreditation to the four-year BSc Electrical Engineering Programme. The VC and the Dean apprised the team of the details of the required academic facilities being extended to the students in line with the criteria determined by the PEC.
